Rex Turnbull - Design juror and artist
Rex has recently returned to his passion for painting after 6 years in publishing Trans Tasman magazine LINO and is a renowned fashion judge, a design moderator and fashion and arts commentator. Of Ngāti Tūwharetoa and Ngāti Kahungunu descent, Rex has enormous experience in the area of design, having lived in London in his earlier years and since travelled the globe to attend either fashion or design events.

Managing Director & Editor of TU MAI magazine, New Zealand’s leading Indigenous lifestyle magazine, launched in 1999. A former Chair of Māoridom’s arts body, Ngā Puna Waihanga, and a member of the toi iho ™ design team, Ata is an advocate of quality Māori art, media and fashion being showcased nationally and internationally. Ata has attended many fashion shows in recent years as a fashion writer and is of Ngāti Maniapoto descent. Ata relocated to Wellington in 2008.
