BLAIR ARCHIBALD - Melbourne
In 2010, Blair Archibald was Miromoda's Emerging Designer category winner. In 2020, he was invited to meet with international fashion icon, Anna Wintour ans is now a leading fashion designer in Australia.

PIA NAERA - Auckland
In 2013, Pia Naera (Ngāpuhi) was the Emerging Designer winner in the MIROMODA Showcase at NZFW. The following year she held her first studio show at NZFW then soon opened her first retail store. After a short break, Pia returned to working with her label and now has a successful retail and online business.

Hohepa has never shied away from challenging, sometimes controversial messaging in his fashion and art. After showing twice at NZFW, Hohepa has established a successful retail store and gallery in Otaki.

TESSA LONT BAILEY - Singapore
Inspired by sustainability, femininity and cultural values Singapore-based Māori designer Tessa Bailey-Lont (Te Atiawa, Ngāti Rahiri and Manukohiri) showcased her brand named Lontessa in the 2018 MIROMODA Showcase at NZ Fashion Week as an international guest designer.

KERI & BROOKE WANOA - Nelson
Supreme Winners of the 2016 Miromoda Fashion Design Competition Sisters Brooke Strang of Nelson and Keri Wanoa (Ngāti Porou) of New Plymouth clothing brand WANOA FOUR was born from the ethos of four sisters. A family of intelligent creative’s committed to inspiring pride in identity. Built from a foundation of cultural expression, designed and made in New Zealand.

NICOLA TE KIRI - Hamilton
Nichola Te Kiri (Ngāi Tūhoe) is passionate about all facets of design. Te Ao Māori drives her original, innovative contemporary designs with splashes of Aotearoa flavours.

MISTY RATIMA - Napier
When Misty Ratima (Ngāti Kahungunu, Rongowhakaata, Rongomaiwahine and Ngāti Hine) saw the 2010 Miromoda show she was so inspired that she returned home to her iwi to study fashion and started a journey that led to her being named the Supreme winner of the same competition seven years later.

MITCHELL VINCENT - Hamilton
Mitchell Vincent (Ngati Tuwharetoa) Collection is a contemporary ready-to-wear label that has an international influence yet reflects the relaxed culture and lifestyle of New Zealand. Established in 2013, the label’s designer, Mitchell Vincent, débuted his first collection as part of the Miromoda showcase at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2013 that gained the designer the title of ‘Emerging Designer’ that year.

ARIENNE WHITEWOOD - Rotorua
Adrienne Whitewood (Rongowhakaaata) takes traditional concepts and reinvents unique silhouettes, exploring fabric manipulation and print technology. Her ethos is about creating wearable clothing for women who want an emotional connection to indigenous design. Returning to Rotorua in 2013, Adrienne went on to study at Waiariki and has since worked fulltime in her own store ahu boutique.

TAONGAHUIA MAXWELL - Rotorua
Kahu Huia, short for "Kakahu (clothing) by Taongahuia", was established in 2018. Based in Rotorua, Taongahuia (Ngāti Maniapoto) gives careful consideration and brings a cultural narrative to each of her collections in order to inspire or educate those seeking meaningful feminine statement wear.

PANIA GREENAWAY - Wellington
Pania Greenaway (Tainui) showed a beautiful womenswear collection as part of the New Generation show at New Zealand Fashion Week 2017 after previously showing as part of the Miromoda show. The Wellington-based talented designer designs and makes her label here in New Zealand with ethical and sustainable principles in mind.

LAYPLAN - Auckland
Talia Soloa and Lavinia Ilolahia (Tongan/Samoan) are the designers behind womenswear label Layplan which they initially formed in 2013. The friends met while studying fashion at Massey University in Wellington and Layplan is a result of the duo’s love of colourful, feminine designs.

BOBBY CAMPBELL LUKE - Auckland
Campbell Luke conceived by Bobby Luke (Ngāti Ruanui) is about his strong kaupapa Māori ethos, Growing up at his mother’s knee inspired by childhood memories to create collections ‘Kakahu Hau’ meaning breath of life into the kākahu (clothes), taking people on a journey of elegance, feminism, and strength.

SONIA TAWHIAO - Auckland
Shona Tawhiao (Ngai Te Rangi, Whakatōhea, Te Whanau Āpanui) has received international acclaim for her creative practice, designing and making contemporary woven garments utilising traditional Māori raranga weaving techniques and methods. The fusing of her love of fashion with her specialised abilities has enabled Shona to create Haute Couture from flax fibre known to Māori as harakeke. This has resulted in her unique style being dubbed ‘Harakeke Couture’.

JIMMY MACKEY - Napier
Of Ngāti Kahungunu descent, Jimmie Mackay’s Jimi is a mens’ and womens’ wear line designed to combine classic and modern garments to suit any occasion. Using high quality fabrics, subtle detailing and mixture of textures, Jimi is created for those who don’t take themselves too seriously.

KIRI NATHAN - Auckland
The Kiri Nathan (Ngāpuhi, Waikato, Ngāti Hine & Ngāti Haua) label breathes identity & inclusivity. She is inspired by Māori culture, indigenous practices and New Zealand. The label produces bespoke fashion, Pounamu jewellery and contemporary handwoven Kākahu (garments). Inspired by Aotearoa New Zealand & Te Ao Māori, the company is built on tradition, culture, unique designs, integrity and a clear company vision.

AMBER WHITECLIFFE - Auckland
Amber Whitecliffe (Te Arawa) is proudly an ethically 100% owned and operated New Zealand brand. The label launched online in November 2012 and opened the doors to the first boutique in Parnell, Auckland in March 2014. Since then it has been sold around New Zealand and globally.

AHO CREATIVE - Christchurch
Kristy Bedi (Ngai Tahu) is a Christchurch based artist and designer whose work typically draws on concepts of culture, identity, hybridity and whakapapa. In 2015 was her first show at New Zealand Fashion week with her collection Aho Manawa.

LILLIAN GRACE LEE - Australia
Grace Lillian Lee is an indigenous artist based in Cairns, Australia. She is an Honours Graduate in Fashion Design from RMIT University and working curator and mentor within a fashion dialogue. Grace creates bespoke cultural designs – practicing cultural craftsmanship in contemporary forms to both inspire and inform. Grace collaborates to explore innovation and technique. She has showcased in San Francisco, New Zealand, Melbourne and Sydney.

JACOB COUTIE Auckland
Jacob Couties' label J'AKE often follows conceptual narratives that use clothing as form of visual communication. This is effective through his use of layering with softer weight fabrics paired against heavier weighted garments. Couties' clothes frequently display formality, vulnerability and authority. won Miromoda’s Emerging Designer award and showcased his menswear collection ‘Toa’ at the 2017 New Zealand Fashion Week’s NZ Post Miromoda Showcase.
