New Zealand Post supporting the fashion industry

New Zealand Post will be a new elite partner at New Zealand Fashion Week 2016 and the sponsor of one of its most popular runway shows, Miromoda.

The partnerships were announced today by New Zealand Post Group General Manager, Customer Experience, Brand and People, Jo Avenell, New Zealand Fashion Week Founder and Director, Dame Pieter Stewart, and Miromoda Co Founder, Ata Te Kanawa.

“New Zealand Post is proud to be supporting New Zealand Fashion Week and Miromoda,” says New Zealand Post’s Jo Avenell. “We want to support other businesses in New Zealand and play our part in helping them grow. That’s why we’re looking forward to building relationships with designers and businesses within the fashion industry and providing the logistics support they need.”

NZFW Founder, Dame Pieter Stewart, welcomed New Zealand Post on board. “As well as being an elite sponsorship partner, New Zealand Post will be our official logistics partner, making sure goods get where they need to during Fashion Week.”

NZFW 2016 will be held at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre from Monday 22th August to Sunday 28th August, promoting local designers to a national and international audience.

Miromoda the Indigenous Maori Fashion Apparel Board (IMFAB) will be showcasing the collections of ten designers at the newly-named New Zealand Post Miromoda Showcase.

“Miromoda does a great job supporting emerging designers, and we can help them too, providing the logistics know-how to establish successful businesses of their own,” says Jo Avenell.

Miromoda Co Founder Ata Te Kanawa says it takes time for designers to find success. “This is about making the right business connections, and New Zealand Post will support our designers on that journey.”

New Zealand Post will have a presence at the venue throughout Fashion Week with its own exhibition of uniforms past, and a specially designed parcel hub where people will be able to package and send courier items.

“We’ll be showcasing our services, not just to all the businesses involved, but to the crowds who’ll be attending over the week,” says Jo Avenell.
